U.S. OFFERS EGYPT MINEHUNTERS

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has offered minehunters to the Egyptian Navy. Officials said the Defense Department has offered Egypt two surplus U.S. Navy minehunters as part of a plan to replace aging Soviet-origin vessels. They said the Pentagon has briefed the Egyptian Navy on the Osprey-class coastal minehunter.
