AMID FOREIGNER FEAR, PA CANCELS EVENTS

RAMALLAH [MENL] -- The Palestinian Authority has canceled major economic conferences because Western executives and officials refuse to enter the West Bank. PA officials acknowledged that Westerners have refused to attend international conferences planned for the next few months. They said the PA could not guarantee the safety of the Westerners amid the spate of abductions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
