ALGERIA RECEIVES BIDS TO DEVELOP GAS RESERVES

CAIRO [MENL] -- Algeria has received bids to develop the North Africannation's natural gas reserves. Algeria's state-owned energy company, Sonatrach, has received bids from10 foreign oil companies to develop and market 255 billion cubic meters ofgas reserves. The project, called Gassi Touil in southeast Algeria, is partof an effort by Algiers to boost exports by more than 35 percent by 2005.
