GREECE, TURKEY AGREE TO CUT DEFENSE BUDGETS
ANKARA [MENL] -- Greece and Turkey have agreed in principle to cut theirmilitary budgets in an effort to reduce tension. Officials from both countries said the proposal to reduce the militarybudgets of the two historical rivals would be discussed by Ankara and Athensduring a series of meetings in 2004. They said any reduction of the militarybudget would be gradual and not harm current programs.
