INSURGENTS OUTGUNNED IRAQI SECURITY FORCES

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States reported that Shi'ite insurgentsemployed greater firepower than that of Iraqi security forces during theApril revolt. U.S. officials said that in several cases Shi'ite insurgents employedheavier and more effective weapons than Iraqi security forces and militarytroops. Theysaid this was one of the key findings from the Shi'ite revolt in central andsouthern Iraq earlier this month.
