OMAN LAUNCHES MILITARY EXERCISE

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Oman has launched a major military exercise. Officials said the exercise, termed Nasser-23, was meant to test thecapabilities of the sultanate's infantry. The annual exercise included theparticipation of thousands of troops as well as armored combat vehicles andanti-tank weapons.was limited to Nasser-23 was termed as part of the training effort of the Royal Army ofOman. The exercise by the 23rd Infantry Brigade began on April 18 and willcontinue through April 28.
