IRAQI MINISTER QUITS AFTER POLICE FAILURE

BAGHDAD [MENL] -- The United States has forced the resignation of theIraqi minister responsible for the nation's new police force. Iraqi Interior Minister Nuri Badran resigned on Thursday amid heightenedcriticism of U.S.-trained security forces and police. Badran told a newsconference that Coalition Provisional Authority administratorPaul Bremer was dissatisfied with the performance of both the ministry andthe police.
