Turkey Reassesses Nuke Program
ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey, in wake of the cancellation of a $1 billion tender,
has begun a reassessment of its nuclear energy program.
The government of Prime Minister Recep Erdogan has begun a review of
Turkey's nuclear energy program as part of an effort to determine whether to
renew procurement efforts in 2010. The review was expected to examine the
failed tender for Turkey's first nuclear energy reactor, canceled in
November 2009 amid difficulties with the sole bidder and protests by
environmentalists.
