GCC Affirms Common BMD Network

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The Gulf Cooperation Council has affirmed its intention
to develop a regional ballistic missile defense network to counter the
threat from neighboring Iran.
GCC secretary-general Abdul Latif Al Zayani said the six members of the
Gulf Arab alliance have recognized the need for a common BMD infrastructure.
Al Zayani said such an infrastructure would include both air and missile
defense assets.
