U.S. Sides With Turkey In Spat With Israel

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has sided with Turkey in its campaign
to ostracize Israel.
Officials said the administration of President Barack Obama has decided
not to press Turkey to end its boycott of Israel, imposed in May 2010 in
wake of the Israel Navy boarding of a Turkish-flagged ship destined for the
Gaza Strip. They said the administration, including Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton, has demanded that Israel apologize to Ankara for the
killing of eight Turks on board a boat that sought to break the siege on the
Gaza Strip.
