Mideast To See IR Detector
PARIS [MENL] -- The Middle East could see an advanced military infrared
detector.
France's Sofradir intends to brief Middle East and other militaries on
Epsilon, touted as one of the most advanced IR detectors. Sofradir said
Epsilon, developed over the last few years and which was presented at
Eurosatory on June 16, marked the most compact cooled mid-wave infrared
detector for military hand-held systems and small unmanned aerial vehicles.
"We are continuing to fulfill our promise to customers by providing the
best in IR systems, so that they can build lighter and even more
energy-efficient equipment," Sofradir chief executive officer Philippe
Bensussan said.
Sofradir exports 70 percent of its products, particularly to Gulf and
other Middle East states. The company has manufactured IR systems for
platforms by Alcatel, Sagem and Thales.
