U.S. URGES ISRAEL TO TAKE PREDATOR FOR PLI PROGRAM

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Israel is being urged to drop plans to develop anunmanned air vehicle to destroy enemy ballistic missile launchers. Instead, U.S. officials and congressional aides are recommending thatIsrael consider a new combat UAV that can launch missiles toward groundtargets. The Predator UAV successfully launched a missile in a program meantto use the aircraft against air and ground targets.
