U.S. NEEDS ANOTHER YEAR FOR SCUD DEFENSE

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The Pentagon says it needs another year to completedefenses against Scud-class missiles. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz said the Pentagon needs severalbillion dollars to complete an umbrella that would protect U.S. troops andallies abroad from Scud-class missiles. Iran, Iraq, Libya and Syria havedeployed such missiles.
