ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey intends to own the rights to the European air
transport.
The state-owned Turkish Aerospace Industries plans to own the right to
the design of the A-400M air transport. TAI has become a partner of Design
Organization Approval of Airbus, the prime contractor of the A-400M.
"With this program, TAI shifts to 'build-to design' method from
'build-to-print.' Being a partner of Airbus Military, our company will not
only own design rights, but also become a partner of Design Organization
Approval (JAR-21 PART JA) under AMSL [Airbus] since AMSL has design rights,
in general, and type certificate," TAI said. "These approvals will make TAI
a company, that has control over all the processes including design, test,
certification and delivery."
