U.S. SELLS EGYPT SAR SYSTEM
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has sold Egypt a search-and-rescuesystem for deployment in the Gulf of Suez. Lockheed Martin has signed an agreement for the supply of a maritimesearch and rescue system as well as training in a $50 million contractsigned on Monday in Cairo. The system, scheduled for completion by the endof 2004, is meant to alert Egyptian authorities to any maritime accident inthe gulf.
