TURKEY EXPECTED TO SHUN SYRIA

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States plans to pressure Turkey to join theWest in shunning Syria. U.S. officials said President George Bush would focus on Syria's role inthe Sunni insurgency war in Iraq. They said Bush would urge Turkey todowngrade relations with Syria and end high-level visits as well as militarycooperation.
