JORDAN HOSTS MAJOR EXERCISE

AMMAN [MENL] -- Jordan has been hosting a major regional air force exercise.

The Hashemite kingdom has sponsored "Falcon Air Meet-2007" in an exercise that included Arab and Western allies. The exercise was meant to test Jordan's interoperability with allied air forces.

The exercise, scheduled to end on June 1, was focused on the capabilities of the F-16. Belgium, Jordan, Turkey and the United States were participating in the maneuvers, which included mock dog fights and bombing sorties.

Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia sent delegations to observe the exercise. In 2006, Bahrain, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates observed the first Falcon Air Meet.
