TEL AVIV [MENL] -- The Israel Air Force has grounded its U.S.-origin A-4
Skyhawk fleet.The move was ordered on Thursday in wake of a crash of the A-4 during a
training mission over the coastal city of Ashdod. The pilot ejected over the
Mediterranean Sea and was not seriously injured.The air force said the A-4's engine malfunctioned during a routine
flight. Officials said a blaze erupted from the engine and the fighter-jet
lost power."During routine training activity this morning, an engine malfunction
apparently occurred in an A-4 Skyhawk airplane," the military said.
